UPDATE ON MARCH 11, 2026: If you missed the deadline to submit your 3SquaresVT work reporting to the Economic Services Division, that’s OK! You can reapply to 3SquaresVT if you also report information about work or volunteer activity, or that you’re meeting an exemption. The Vermont Food Bank can help with the reapplication process and maintains a handy map of food banks in the state. Call 1-855-855-6181 or text ‘VFBCHAT’ to 61222 to talk with an advocate at the Vermont Foodbank.

Starting March 1, 2026, about 3,000 people could lose 3SquaresVT unless they report information about work, volunteer hours, or reasons why they are excused from the work rule (called “exemptions”).

For most people, simply giving information to Economic Services will let them keep their benefits. To learn more, read the VT Food Help website or visit the 3SquaresVT website.

The State of Vermont is also sending voice and text messages about 3SquaresVT work requirements. View the websites above to learn more.
